SUCCESS IN QUESTION

Everyone wishes to be successful come what may. Some are not concerned about the means by which their success is achieved. Be it legal or legit or illegal, dubious, and evil. Not even the welfare of others is taken into consideration as they seek to progress in their various fields of endeavor. Why would you want to be successful if it will only benefit your selfish interest and not the people around you? God blesses us not because of our interest but for the interest of all around us else, that blessing becomes useless.

As we strive so hard to attain success, let us try as much as possible to lay behind a remarkable legacy that will set us apart from the crowd. The desire to be successful is not a bad feeling but the way that success is attained is the problem. Success is supposed to bring fulfillment, integrity, dignity, self-respect, and happiness. Gaining it through dubious means only comes to accomplish the opposite of the stated values.

Success can be achieved without the use of dubious means. Let’s bring into limelight the attitude of great historians who lived and made a great impact on the earth without indulging in evil practices. Taking into consideration the life of the highly praised Jesus Christ. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Junior, Nelson Mandela, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Professor Mahatma Gandhi, and many other heroes in history, they never had anything to do with evil practices. This is the difference we must seek to emulate as we strive to attain the height of success. We may not be celebrated widely as the above mentioned but deep within our hearts, we are going to feel fulfilled.

Life is a journey of impartation and impact making. Notwithstanding, it is either you are making an impact or you making income (i.e. earning to make a living). Many are consumed in the activities of this world such that they forget the true purpose, aim, goal, reason, and mandate of life. Many are trapped in the insatiable quest to make more money in life come what may. The more they seem to make much money, the greater the influence money exerts on them. They turn to drastically turn away from their divine mandate trading them with the desire to acquire all the pleasures of this world. Everything we indulge ourselves in this journey of life should be a cause worthy of impact making and not only money-earning. The impact we make in life brings to light our accomplishments when we are no more. They serve as the pillars and backbone for our footprints or legacies we live behind wherever we go. Far beyond the wisdom of men, the creator chose to create us in His uniqueness. Some he painted black, white, and others He gave the color yellow with each bearing special qualities. What happens to dynamism if we all are the same. What happens to leadership if we all have the same abilities. Who becomes a follower if we all have prevalent ideas and insight concerning a thing. Who becomes the student if we all have the same in-depth information and knowledge. Come to think of it, we can never and ever in any way be the same because it will make society imbalance and unstable. As the ecosystem comprises of different organisms living together with different roles, we must learn to appreciate everyone's uniqueness and accept and live with them for who they are.
